The front cover with an 1877 presentation inscription to William Lewis for being the best swordsman in the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry (MY) Cavalry. The regiment was first formed in 1803. It provided volunteers to the Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War and formed three regiments for service during World War One.
