Hand Wrought Letter Opener York Silversmith Vincent Ashworth Hallmarked London 1996Excellent hand wrought silver letter opener by master silversmith Vincent Ashworth who was based just north of York. Vincent was taught by Arts and Crafts silversmith Bernard Cuznor his career taking him to Zimbabwe, Botswana, New Zealand, London and Yorkshire. The letter opener is simple but beautifully made being hand wrought and decorated from a heavy gauge silver. The underside is slightly concave and some of the planishing is still discernible.
